Sepultura - Morbid Visions / Bestial Devastation
|
Good even yall |
|
Sepultura is one of the only metal bands that have done basically all of the extreme metal genres except doom metal. I find this band fascinating for when we first start listening to there first album we are taken into a world of anti Christianity as many black metal bands project when listening to there songs. Now Morbid Visions / Bestial Devastation was one of the early black metal albums that really was not trying to shock like Venom was trying to. Were met with songs like crucifixion morbid visions which in my view paved a way for the second wave of black metal and perhaps even bestial/ war metal. As well as early blackened thrash metal. Now this album I would say is more of an attack on Christianity views. We've seen slayer do the same but like venom it's more for shock and not really a philosophic approach.

Twitch Of The Death Nerve - A New Code Of Morality
|
Pretty enjoyable |
|
Almost anything has Lille Gruber's drumming on its warranty of great quality music. Here's pretty brutal insane and fast drumming including Lille's style adding some jazziness, quite creative and original. No one can resemble or imitate his drumming.
Vocals are like any brutal death metal but this are one of the most brutal I've listened to, If I would have to give them adjective it'd corrosive, profound, acid, monstruous. I like when they include some high pitched squeals making some kind of harmonics there.
Don't know it its production or guitar riffs (or a little of both) when something sounds groovy but here it does and it makes all the songs funny and enjoyable to listen.
I like when they add some samples making it a little more funny and interesting.
For me this is an underrated jewel. Every time I listen to it its a great pleasure. Would recommend it all the time.

This band rised in the early 80´s , one of the best trash-death metal since. This album changed a little from the others to better and include different riffs to speed the songs. They´ve changed vocals many times, anyway the keep it gutural and fine.

In Flames haven't put out a good album in the last nearly 20 years. This is no exception and continues their downward trend of disappointment. For revolutionary scene-creating melodic death metal, listen to old In Flames. To get a little kid into metal, give them this album. 1.5 stars - very poor.

Villain - Coextinction
|
About Coextinction |
|
This demo EP has been a long time coming. Half of these songs started off as just cool riffs I liked to play back when I was 17. In 2015 I started to put these songs together and wrote "Coextinction" which really helped solidify the concept. I originally started to record for this EP back 2016 but didn't get very far. I wasn't happy with the way it sounded and lack of motivation just killed the momentum. But then years later I recorded "Beneath A Black Sky" specifically to go at the end of Coextinction, and the response from the DFM community was great. I started recording in earnest last summer (2019) and spent nearly all of Jan and Feb finishing it up.
This EP was heavily inspired by Six Feet Under, specifically their first two albums. Even a bit of White Zombie influence reared it's head during the recording of the lead guitar parts. Its message is clear, I think, to those who read the lyrics. Lincoln once said, "Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power." I think that about says it all.
Coextinction was originally going to be the name of the band, and would have been primarily a Six Feet Under, "groove style" death metal project. But as time went on I began writing faster, heavier stuff and created a new concept that I'm calling "Villain" for the time being. Coextinction is basically a "stepping stone" to something greater. The next Villain album will be much faster, heavier and more technical.
Thanks to everyone here for their support and a special thanks to pesadelo for liking it enough to put it in the playlist. I hope you guys enjoy it.
