I'm actually pretty surprised no one has requested this yet.....
Akercocke's "Words that Go Unspoken, Deeds that Go Undone" is easily one of my favorite releases this year. Has a great combination of Death, Black, Thrash, and Progressive metal. Mendonca's vocal capabilities really shine on this album as he ranges from various death techniques, to clean, to black metal(amazing vocals). On the more progressive side they throw in some strange industrial parts and almost trippy riffing at times, with some melancholic sounding vocals as well. There is amazing guitar work as well , but i dont want to keep rambling on, this post is long enough . This album is VERY good, so dont hesitate to pick this one up if youre into progressive death metal and stuff like that.
